After roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes from Tbilisi, the tour arrives at the Georgia–Armenia border. This stop involves two consecutive formalities: first, exiting Georgia, and immediately after, entering Armenia. Your driver-guide will assist throughout the process, helping with documents and ensuring the crossing is as smooth as possible. Travelers should allow extra time, as processing may vary depending on traffic.
Next we head south into Armenia, where the scenery quickly shifts from wide valleys to dense mountain forests. Our first stop is Dilijan — a small town hidden in the hills and known for its traditional wooden architecture, quiet streets, and relaxed atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you slow down naturally, even if just for a short walk.
From the forests of Dilijan the road climbs toward one of the most impressive natural sights in the region: Lake Sevan. Sitting almost 2,000 meters above sea level, Sevan is one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world. The deep blue water, open horizons, and mountain backdrop make it one of Armenia’s most iconic landscapes.
